A building was chosen to build the Revit model. Image shown is the floor plan of the building.
New architectural template project is created. Grid lines were drawn according to specific dimensions before drawing the floor plan.
Then wall on the ground floor is drawn according to the dimensions set by the grid lines.
Then the wall on the first floor together with the floor slab of both floors.
Staircase were added for the connection of two floors. A hole were punched using "shaft" on the first floor slab.
A mono-pitched roof were then added. By checking the box "define slope" with 5° slope and a 1000mm overhang.
Window family is created. In exterior view, unlock constraint and check instance parameter.
Annotate and align inner frame of window with the reference plane.
Make both of the dimension of the width equal.
Add parameter for the dimension of the inner frame.
Extrude the frame and lock constraint at all four sides.
At the reference level view, align the inner frame to the reference plane and lock constraint.
At the exterior view, outer frame is created and parameter is added after that.
Extrude the outer frame and lock constraint.
At the reference level view, align the outer frame to the reference plane and mirror it to the other side which created outer frame at the interior and exterior.
Reference plane were added to create the panel frame and add parameter to the panel frame.
Extrude the panel frame and lock constraint.
In reference level view, align the panel frame and lock constraint.
Another family is created to create window sill. Add parameter to sill width and height in left view.
Add another reference plane to draw the window sill.
In front view, align the window sill to the reference plane and lock constraint.
Add parameter to window sill width.
Load family to the window family file.
Drag the window sill and place it at the appropriate spot in the reference level view of the window family file.
Align the window sill to the reference plane.
In the exterior view, align the sill to a proper height with reference plane and lock constraint.
Outcome of window family.
In exterior view, unlock constraint of the height and check instance parameter.
Add reference plane to create inner frame. Then, add annotation and align to the reference plane.
Extrude the inner frame and lock constraint.
In the reference level view, add reference plane and align the inner frame.
Then, lock constraint on the both sides.
Back to the exterior view, reference plane for outer frame is created. Extrude the outer frame and lock constraint.
In the interior view, the outer frame is align to the reference level and lock constraint.
Then, mirror it to the opposite side.
Extrude door stop and lock constraint on all sides.
Add reference plane and align the door stop to it and lock constraint.
Annotate the dimensions and align.
Extrude the door panel and lock constraint.
Align the panel to the reference plane at the right dimension.
Annotate the dimension of the door panel and align.
Under symbolic lines, pick "Panel [cut]" to draw a plan view door leaf.
Draw the panel door leaf of plan view and lock constraint.
Then, pick "Plan swing [cut]" for the swing arc in plan view.
Then create layers to apply materials for different component under the "Materials and finishes" section in the properties tab.
At the associate family parameter, add parameter as layer for different components and check the instance parameter box. Then load family to project.
Drag the door to the appropriate spot for both ground floor and second floor.
Then, repeat the step for window.
Then apply material to different component of window.
Then copy and paste the window with material applied to appropriate spots.
Repeat the steps for doors.
Then, apply materials to walls, slabs and other components.
Final outcome
